* FROM THE TWO RIVERS: Eye of the World Part 1 by Robert Jordan - Starscape Tpb. ... $6.00

* TO THE BLIGHT: Eye of the World Part 2 by Robert Jordan - Starscape Tpb. ... $6.00

Here's a project that, when I first heard about it, I felt was the result of a publisher desperately seeking every last nickel out of the reading public. THE EYE OF THE WORLD was already available in hardcover, tradepaperback and paperback - what possible good could come from splitting it into two volumes and retitling it? But now they're here, and I've changed my mind. These are large enough to make for comfortable reading, without being so massive that it's difficult to carry around. The illustrations and maps scattered throughout are helpful without being intrusive. And I really like the idea of a line of books being produced that will appeal to the high school and early college set, which is my guess on where Tor is going with the Starscape imprint.

* HAWKWOOD'S VOYAGE: MONARCHIES OF GOD #1 by Paul Kearney - Ace pb. * MEET ME IN THE MOON ROOM by Ray Vukcevich - Small Beer Press Tpb. Thirtythree short stories portraying universes stranger than most folks can even imagine.
