We have one of those Good News / Bad News announcements regarding Ray Bradbury's new poetry collection THEY HAVE NOT SEEN THE STARS. The Good News is that Ray has signed a stack of bookplates, with art from our own Randy Broecker. We will be including a bookplate with each copy of the book sold here. The Bad News is that Stealth Press has run into some production problems with the book, and it is now not expected to be available until at least March, quite possibly later. We have a healthy supply of bookplates, but we'll wait until the book is actually out to take orders.

LORD OF THE RINGS:
As most of us are aware, last month New Line Cinema released a movie adaptation of J. R. R. Tolkein's THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING, with the other two movies to follow at one year intervals. I saw it the day it came out (geek that I am) and I was very impressed indeed! While definitly an adaptation: whole sections are skipped, various conversations and events are re-located in time, and the movie ends just after the orc's attack at the beginning of THE TWO TOWERS: it was incredibly faithfull to the text. The visuals were both spectacular and startlingly familiar, as the set and character designs were by long-time Tolkein illustrators Alan Lee and John Howe. Anyway, in honor of this cinematic triumph, we're relisting the Tolkein books, which have been reissued with covers from the movie.
