THE WEINBERG BOOK CATALOGThe Catalogs | Mail Order Terms | Order FormJanuary 2002 Catalog - Darkside PressDarkside Press is John & Kathy Pelan. Under their Silver Salamander Press imprint they publish modern horror novels and short story collections, leading off in 1993 with I SAID THE FLY by Michael Shea. They also publish classic (that is to say, much older, often obscure) works of weird fiction with their partner, Aaron Bates, under the Midnight House imprint. New from Midnight House for this month is DARK SANCTUARY by H. B. Gregory, edited and with an introduction by D.H. Olson, probably the most sought-after and least found of the books from Karl Edward Wagner's "Best" list and THE SCARECROW by G. Ranger Wormser which collects together for the first time all of Gwendolyn Wormser's weird and supernatural fiction. Several of the Midnight House collections have sold out soon after publication, including HOUSE OF THE NIGHTMARE, the first of the two volume Edward Lucas White collection and THE BLACK GONDOLIERS, the first of the Fritz Leiber short story collections. Sad to say, we do not have either of these books available - I even sold my personal copy of THE BLACK GONDOLIERS! Some of the backlist titles that we do have on hand at the moment are: CORPSE LIGHT & OTHER TALES OF TERROR by Dick Donovan - HC. Dick Donovan's "Tales of Terror" was published over a century ago and is virtually impossible to acquire. This new collection though puts the old stories between new covers to familiarize new readers with classic tales in the Jamesian vein, of the Gothic and of course the traditional blood and guts. ... $40.00 MONSTER MAKER & OTHER STORIES by William C. Morrow - HC. William C. This collection gathers all of his best supernatural and suspense tales in one volume. Introduction by S.T. Joshi & Stefan Dziemianowicz. Limited edition of 460. ... $40.00 HAUNTING BEAUTY by Charles Birkin - HC. A retrospective sampling of elegant and cruel tales by an author that has been unavailable for too long to the modern reader. ... $40.00 WEIRD O' IT by Clive Pemberton - HC. Though written over one hundred years ago, his ghastly ghost and reanimated corpse stories still jump off the page. ... $40.00 SESTA & OTHER STRANGE STORIES by Edward Lucas White - Midnight House HC. White's nightmare-inspired tales are a deft blend of the American weird tale and his own unique surrealism. All but three of the stories in this volume have never before been collected, several have never before been published. Limited to 450 numbered copies. ... $40.00 Some Silver Salamander backlist tiles on hand are: LOST IN BOOTH NINE by Adam-Troy Castro - HC. Introduction by Dean Wesley Smith and Katheryn Kristian Rusch. Limited to 300 numbered copies, Signed by all three. ... $35.00 FALLING IDOLS by Brian Hodge - In Tradepaperback, ... $15.00 In Hardcover, limited to 300 numbered copies and Signed by the Author. ... $35.00 Leatherbound, limited to 50 numbered copies and Signed by the Author. ... $65.00 SALT SNAKE & OTHER BLOODY CUTS by Simon Clark - Hardcover, limited to 300 numbered copies and Signed by the Author. ... $35.00 CITY FISHING by Steve Rasnic Tem - Tpb. City Fishing is
a batch of stories that deal with the depths of human memory and the secret
histories that consume our lives. Recovered memories found to be not exactly
accurate but no less true, these dark stories are seeped in mythic qualities
that transcend facts. ... $18.00 |
